Simple adjustments, stretches or mindful breathing can make a world of difference in the comfort levels of our bodies.
As we immerse ourselves in daily activities ( work, in particular ) we may get locked in certain positions or hold stress in our shoulders or other areas of the body unbeknownst to us, which over time can start to cause real problems for us.
Adopting the practice of periodically ( even a few minutes every hour or so) bringing your attention to releasing areas of stress, stretch and taking belly breaths can be extremely beneficial.
For instance, while sitting at a desk, doing some neck stretches and stretching your arms over your head and taking some deep breathes helps to break the stress cycle of being locked in the same position for hours at a time. Getting up and taking short walk breaks when possible is of course a good idea as well.
Making it a habit to bring your attention to your body takes little effort and your body will thank you!
